About me

OK, this will no doubt bore the pants off you, but here goes anyway.

Born in ‘Royal’ Kingston-upon-Thames in 1964, I was adopted at the age if six months and was brought up to Lancashire where I have remained all my life, apart from the odd long-term excursion to Cornwall (Porthcurno) and Gloucestershire (Cheltenham) in 1982 for two years. I now live in the picturesque market town of Ormskirk on the West Lancashire Plain.

Now a full-fledged Lancastrian (and a member of the Friends of Real Lancashire), married to Alison with two children (David and Rebecca), I enjoy several hobbies including Amateur Radio (callsign G7LFC), photography, walking and rallying (have rallied, then spent several years marshalling, now I mainly spectate).

I am the Chairman of the Southport & District Amateur Radio Club and Lifeboat Amateur Radio Society and run my own web design business, dynanti, with my partner Jayne.

Between 1991 and 2003 I was the Network Manager at PKF Liverpool, an international firm of accountants. However, following being made redundant in 2003 I returned to full time education and graduated from Lancaster University, having studied at Edge Hill, with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Web Systems Development in 2007. I can’t say that this has changed my life in any way, but it has given me an immense sense of satisfaction that my brain’s not yet defunct – though my memory’s not far off.
